About Sal

Early Days

Mixing has always been a big part of Sal Ojeda's life. Growing up as a Californian in Mexico, he's always tried to blend the best of both cultures in everything he does. His love for sound and music started early on in Guadalajara, Mexico. At 11, he fell in love with the drums and began private lessons with some of the best drummers in the city. Later, he joined his dad’s band and learned the basics of sound recording.

Education

Early Days

By the time he finished high school, Sal was an active drummer in the Guadalajara music scene and got hooked on sound recording and mixing. This passion led him to move back to the USA. After a couple of years at Glendale Community College in Arizona, he earned a scholarship to Berklee College of Music, where he discovered the world of post-production.

Post Production Work

After graduating with honors from Berklee, Sal moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in sound. Since 2010, he’s had the chance to work on projects by renowned directors such as George Miller, Ron Howard, Allen Hughes, Robert Rodriguez, Chris Smith, and Paul Crowder. He’s also worked on original series, feature films, and TV specials for Netflix, Warner Bros., Sony, Hulu, FX, Disney+, Apple TV+, and HBO.

Music Experience

Post Production Work

In the music world, Sal has teamed up with artists like Pink, Bono, Imagine Dragons, Andrea Bocelli, Aloe Blacc, Taylor Swift, Lil Wayne, Cher, Sting, Lenny Kravitz, Erykah Badu, Gladys Knight, Brad Paisley, Richard Page, Vinnie Colaiuta, Luis Conte, Robert Glasper, and Shenkar. He’s also been part of the Pre-recorded Music Programming team for awards shows like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Academy of Country Music Awards, Kids' Choice Awards, and Billboard Music Awards.
